A Year in Stories, 2015 Edition

Last year, I did a roundup of 2014 writing-wise and what stories had come out. I wanted to do another one around the first of they year, but January has just gotten away from me. So, better late than never, here’s what stories came out in 2015:

December

This isn’t about a released story, but it is worth noting: I was a finalist in the Writers of the Future contest. Very excited to almost win this contest, something I’ve been working towards for 5+ years.

October

Life-After-Cover-1e-feet-and-clouds-D2-FRONT-1a-300pxLife After: Stories of Life, Death, and the Places in Between came out. This is a collection of short stories that go very well, thematically speaking, with my ghost novels (there is even a brand new ghost story in it).

Two of my short stories (“Death by Starlight” and “The Last Flight of the Acurus”) were featured on StarShipSofa podcast, episode #394.

These are both stories of survival in space, old fashioned sci-fi with a bit of a twist. Acurus was my first sale and appeared in Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine, Issue #58. Starlight is a piece of flash fiction inspired by Acurus and appeared in Every Day Fiction.

The narration is beautifully done by Katerine Inskip. Go take a listen now!

January

NM-LG-Season-1---Cover---1c5---Front-600Neutrinoman & Lightningirl: A Love Story, Season 1 (Episodes 1 – 3), the omnibus edition of the first three episodes of my Superhero Love story came out

Looking towards 2016

Back in the 2014 roundup, I looked forward to 2015 and what I was planing to release. It didn’t quite turn out as I planed (Life After being the sole prediction to come true). This year, I think I’ll be a bit more conservative:

  • A Ghost’s Memoir, Book 3. Back to the world of Shuffled Off with a novel told from Jesus’s point of view. Those observant readers will notice this was on the slate for 2105… This year it really, truly should come out.
  • A short science fiction novel (my first) that explores life and love in a post-biological existence. This is pretty likely too.

I hope there is more, but both of these projects are well along.

Enjoy 2016 and go read something amazing!
