Post-Zombie Apocalypse Reporter, Aleia O here.
Greetings Readers,
The dog days of Summer are finally here, and as usual dogs are on my mind. We’ll get to Woody and June’s adventures in a sec but first, please indulge me with this little update on our pups. It’s so hot now that Olivia is shedding like crazy and Teddy is finally well enough to go to the groomer. He seems to really love his new summer cut and Olivia seems to really love him. Here are a few pictures to contrast what he looked like when he came to us and what he looks like now. There’s also one of a pre-haircut snuggle we captured one morning when Olivia (unprompted by me) put her paw around our little guy. The cuteness is almost too much!
Despite the fact that these pups have filled up our hearts and our home, Robert is still working like crazy on writing new stories with detectives and ghosts, heroes and villains. Which brings me to Woody and June!
In the first several episodes our heroes have faced various challenges from Flagstaff to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back to the top! The story is exciting and truly a travelogue that details some of the wild and wonderful places in northern Arizona. Earlier in July we released Episode #5 Woody and June versus the Third Wheel, where our adventurers made their way to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon under cover of darkness. During the long, arduous climb up and out of the canyon they also picked up an extremely untrustworthy third wheel.
Next up is Episode #6 Woody and June versus Phantom Company. This is the penultimate episode, meaning the one before the last one. Without giving too much away, I want you to know that you are in for a wild ride. . . on the Colorado River! Yes, two amateurs must raft down the churning, treacherous, frigid waters of the Colorado River to rescue a friend who has been captured by Talia and her gang of thugs.
Now, I must admit that I am not inclined to raft the Colorado River, even though everyone else I know just can’t wait to (or already has). Robert had a first-hand experience rafting the upper Colorado before we met. His story-telling in this episode imparts some of the derring-do that takes place on the river when rafts meet rapids and swirling currents. The river’s danger cannot be understated. This page-turner will have you shivering and holding your breath alongside our heroes. Here’s a three-minute peek at running the famous Lava Rapid on the Colorado River.
You will be able to grab Episode #6 on August 14th and as a reminder, for Fan Club members Episode #5 Woody and June Versus the Third Wheel is available for just $0.99 (until August 14th) at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and others .
