With Light Years Between Us

Excuse me for a moment while I go all sci-fi on you. Only for a moment, I promise.

If you hop on a space ship and travel fast, I mean really fast, as in approaching light speed, you will experience time very differently than someone on Earth. Specifically less time will pas for you than for the person on Earth.

This gets into Eisenstein’s theory of special relativity if you want to go all google happy and search for it.

For my story “With Light Years Between Us” all that science stuff is the backdrop for a very human story. A couple seeing each other for the first time in a long time. A lot longer for one of them.

“With Light Years Between Us” is just out in Issue 8 of Pulphouse Fiction Magazine. I really love this story and so happy that it found a home.

Take a look and let me know what you think. Does the mix of a very human problem with a sci-fi twist work?

And, yup, that’s my name on the cover!!! This is my second one. Maybe this short story writing thing is going to work out okay 😊

Oh, and for the very observant of you, yes, “With Light Years Between Us” is from my short story marathon back in 2017. I first mentioned it by name on Day 16. That’s another sale from those 30 stories!
