Unfinished Business

Sometimes a title makes all the difference. It’s like this sprinkle of magic that makes a project come together and suddenly it all makes sense. And that is true for Unfinished Business: The Cases of Walter Anchor Ghost Detective.

Unfinished Business encapsulates the journey of an earth bound spirt (i.e. ghost) perfectly. And especially Walter Anchor as he tries to solve his own murder. As I was finishing up Walter’s stories earlier in the year, the title came to me and I knew it was perfect, capturing one of the themes that run throughout these stories.

And then I found the image for the cover. I’ve been sitting on it for months and so love it! The vibe is just perfect for Walter Anchor, Ghost Detective.

Back in January I told you all that Walter was going to be one of the stars of my writing this year, and this here is the moment. Granted, all six of Walter’s stories in this collection are already out but putting them together makes it into the longer story I originally conceived of.

Walter changes and grows as he and Emily solve these six cases. He goes from being a brand new ghost to confronting the hard reality of exactly how he died. And it’s a whopper of a story with all of them combined. The print edition is over 500 pages long and if you haven’t been buying them as they came out, now is the perfect time to grab a copy.

The Unfinished Business ebook is on sale for $2.99 (in the US) for the next few weeks. There is a print edition available too ($19.99 in the US).

For you Shuffled Off fans, there’s a few cameos in here from that series. I keep thinking about JJ and the gang. There’s nothing new there yet, but you can get a glimpse of them here.

Here’s the blurb for the book:

Walter Anchor wants nothing more from his afterlife than to solve his own murder, complete his unfinished business, and move on.

This failed actor turned dentist teams up with a ghost named Emily to find his murderer. But when they solve a series of cases that lead him to the truth about his death, he gets more than he bargained for. Can he face the reality of his own death, save the woman he still loves, and do the unthinkable before anyone else dies?

From the author of Shuffled Off: A Ghost’s Memoir comes a mystery unlike anything seen before.

Unfinished Business includes the following Walter Anchor Ghost Detective books:

  • Detecting Haley
  • The Ghost Bride’s Gift
  • A Long Hard Fall
  • Death of a Dentist
  • A Hollywood Kind of Murder
  • The Red Arrow Murders
