The Artist, the Engineer, and the Sleeping Dog

Today my short story “The Artist, the Engineer, and the Sleeping Dog” came out in Pulphouse Fiction Magazine, Issue #10.

This is my first story to hit in a magazine or anthology for 2021 and is a story I am particularly proud of. For one thing, it’s a “big swing” story, meaning I was trying something new. It’s also one of a series of stories that I wrote where dogs feature prominently. I wrote quite a few of these in 2019, another one being “Dog People” which came out a while back and led to the novel Where the Past Belongs.

These stories try, through fiction, to capture the magic of having a dog in your life and being a dog person. This one particularly. And I am a huge dog person and if you are too, these stories might just be for you.

So go check it out and let me know what you think!

Oh… and it doesn’t get old seeing my name on the cover of a magazine 😃
