This writing thing can gain momentum on you in surprising ways.
A couple of days ago, WMG Publishing dropped five new Stories from Pulphouse anthologies and four of them have stories of mine! If you’ve been reading this blog, you know my short fiction has been appearing in Pulphouse Fiction Magazine regularly. Well, sometimes they take stories from the magazine and remix them into themed anthologies.
That’s what just happened. Four books, four stories, one day. Crazy!
I knew they were doing these anthologies but I had no idea if my stories would make it in them until they dropped. What a fun surprise.
For those of you that have been reading Pulphouse Fiction Magazine, these are not new stories, but if you haven’t, this is a great way to read one of my stories and sample the wild and amazing fiction that is in those pages.
Here are the anthologies and the stories of mine that are in them. I’ve written a bit about why the story and anthology might be for you.
“Daisy’s Heart” is in Twisted Robots, Oh, My! : This one is obviously great if you like robots. “Daisy’s Heart” is a pretty serious sci-fi story and is, frankly, one of my best sci-fi shorts. You don’t have to take it from me it made the Tangent Online 2019 Recommended Reading list!! Read more about the story
“Death by Vodka” is in Ghosts Among Us: Clearly for you if you like ghosts. This story takes place in my ghost world, so if you’ve read Shuffled Off or any of those books this could be a fun one for you. Read more about the story
“Dog People” is in Run!! Creatures, Critters, and Pulphousers: This is a good bet for creature lovers. What I can say about this story is that it’s a ton a fun and I loved the critter in it so much that I wrote a whole novel with her in it. Read more about the story
“The Pearce Shootout” is in There’ll Be Blue Popcorn Without You!: This story is an innovative sci-fi, time travel, western. And whatever image that conjures in your mind, I bet there are some surprises in this story for you. Read more about the story
