Finding Time: 12 Meticulously Crafted Time Travel Stories is my latest short story collection, one I had so much fun putting together, but because of the vagaries of life it’s taken me over a month to officially announce it here.
Why? Well, I’m not going to say much except that there was a sudden death in my family and the last thing I wanted to do was to talk about a new book.
I needed a breath, a break, some time to let the dust settle and to feel a little more like myself.
At this point, I don’t think the dust is all the way settled, and to push the analogy, don’t know that it ever quite will be. It was one of those losses.
But here we are and I really am happy with this collection of stories. It’s all about our most precious resource, time, and examines it from many angles: sci-fi, fantasy, and even hard science fiction using Einstein’s theory of special relativity.
I was so inspired as I put this book together that I wrote a brand new story for the collection called, “Which Came First: The Chicken or the Time Traveling Egg?” As you might surmise from that title, there are definitely some lighter stories here and there are some heavier ones too. There is a lot of variety with the commonality of examining time.
We only get so much time, and it is entirely appropriate to examine our own use of time. These fictional stories have helped me do that. Maybe they will help you too.
