Today my story “Haunted by the Past” is out!
This is one of my Conner Bright stories and the first of three Conner Bright releases this year (or four if you count the collection another story will appear in). That makes this the year of Conner Bright. I’ve been writing about Conner for over ten years so it’s about time he got some focus.
“Haunted by the Past” is a short story and cronologically takes place after “Chupacabra.”
If you haven’t tried out Conner Bright yet, his first story, “The Case of the Purple Unicorn”, is free to my newsletter subscribers!

Here’s the blurb for this story:
Private investigator and Arizona native Conner Bright tries to hide from his past with a b-movie quality Australian accent, alligator skin boots, and a bowie knife strapped to his side, but it always seems to catch up to him.
Investigating an apparent haunting inside the deserted Metrocenter Mall, a place he loved in his youth, Conner will face much more than he bargained for in this creepy, abandoned building. When this bizarre case takes a personal turn, can Conner keep from falling into his old, bad habits? Can he survive?
From Robert J. McCarter, the author of Unfinished Business: The Cases of Walter Anchor, Ghost Detective, comes a private investigator and a case like no other.
